The Knights of Columbus Council 1067 recently presented a check for $500 in support of the St. Joseph Hospital (SJH) Northeast Tower project.

The Knights – a fraternal benefit society that promote social and intellectual fellowship through charitable, educational, religious and social welfare works – recognized the hospital’s tower project as being in accordance with the organization’s mission.

“The Knights of Columbus was founded over 125 years ago on the principles of charity, unity and fraternity, and we commend and wholeheartedly support St. Joseph Hospital’s commitment to providing the North Coast community with modern health care services,” said John Stopkowicz, Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council 1067.

“Being supported by philanthropic organizations like the Knights of Columbus is central to our success raising funds for the Northeast Tower,” said Dax Williamson, president of the SJH Foundation. “We are grateful for their support.”

Ultimately, the Northeast Tower at SJH will be a state-of-the-art, three-story building totaling 100,000 square feet. The new facility will feature an expanded Emergency Department, a surgical suite with eight operating rooms and a catheterization lab, 40 patient care beds, the Intensive Care Unit, and new reception and waiting areas for patients and visitors.
